We are excited to announce the iconic UK The Royal Arms coins have returned. The coins are available in 1oz Gold,1oz Silver & 10oz Silver.

What is The Royal Arms?

The Royal Arms coins feature The Royal Coat of Arms which is one of the United Kingdom’s most recognisable and majestic symbols. It identifies the person who is the Head of State, currently Queen Elizabeth II and has developed over the years to reflect the Monarchy and the country.

Once used on shields on the medieval battlefield, The Royal Arms is now used in the administration and government of the country and appears on coins and churches.

Each member of the Royal Family has a Coat of Arms. These are broadly similar to The Queen’s, with slight differences to identify them.

The Royal Arms Coins

Coin Design

The iconic design first appeared on bullion in 1983 by Eric Sewell but has been reinterpreted by Timothy Noad in 2019. The design exemplifies the royal heritage that each monarch inherits during their reign and features the heraldic devices which have lasted through the ages.

The Royal Arms coins design features a shield divided into four quarters. Each quarter represents emblems of different parts of the UK, including the three lions of England, the lion of Scotland and the harp of Ireland. Wales does not play a role because Wales was already integral to England when the Act of Union came about. The English lion is on the right side of the shield, and the left is the Scottish unicorn.

Radial lines surround the Royal Arms, which creates a beautiful background and provide an added security feature against fraud and counterfeits.
