This pre-owned 2020 Canadian Kraken 2oz Silver Coin showcases the legendary sea monster in striking detail. Its reverse depicts the Kraken clutching the shattered halves of a ship in its tentacles, alongside the coin’s weight, purity and mintmark.
The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, with the year of issue and face value beneath.
First recorded in 1555, the Kraken has become one of the world’s most enduring maritime legends. Said to lurk beneath the waves, this fearsome creature was believed to seize unfortunate vessels and drag them into the depths.
