The obverse depicts the portrait of George Washington by John Flanagan. The wording reads “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, “LIBERTY”, “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “QUARTER DOLLAR”.
The Reverse design shows a Samoan Fruit Bat mother with her baby. Designed to promote awareness of this caring, energetic animal whose status is now threatened due to loss of habitat and hunting. The inscription reads: “NATIONAL PARK”, “AMERICAN SAMOA”, “2020”, “E PLURIBUS UNUM”
