Gold Platinum Jubilee Sovereign coin 2022

The Platinum Jubilee sovereign was the first sovereign since Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012 to feature a new design on the reverse on the coin. The classic depiction of George and the Dragon on the reverse of the coin was replaced with The Royal Coat of Arms design, crafted by Jody Clark.

Through the sovereign lineage, these coins were the last to bear Queen Elizabeth II’s effigy.
