The History of the Nadir Cast Silver Bar
In 1967, Nadir Tütüncü established his 150-metre squared Istanbul workshop to recycle jewellers dross. Beginning in 1975, he started precious metal refining for the market, and the workshop had to be increased in size. In 1985, he established Nadir Trading and began to trade precious metals in the Istanbul Grand Bazaar. In 1993, Nadir Metal Rafineri San. ve Tic. Ltd. was established. There was a rapid increase in demand, and the first gold and silver refinery in Turkey was born.
In 1999, a partnership agreement with the German company Degussa Allgemeine was signed in exchange for technology “know-how” and Nadir Allgemeine Ind.Trade.Co.Ltd. was established. In 2001, the Nadir Family became the sole shareholder of the company, which continued its operations under the name of Nadir Metal Rafineri San. ve Tic. Ltd.
In 2006 the company was accredited by Borsa Istanbul (BIST) for gold and silver. In 2011 they became the first company in Turkey to be accredited the by London Good Delivery Association (LBMA) for gold and the same happened in 2012 for silver.
