The koala, a marsupial native to the continent, symbolises resilience and adaptation to the country’s dry conditions. The distinctive design portrays the koala nestled among the branches of eucalyptus trees, showcasing the creature’s preference for these aromatic leaves and for spending up to 20 hours a day in the sheltered branches.
The intricate designs on the coins capture the essence of these fascinating creatures, paying homage to Australia’s rich biodiversity.
