We’re happy to announce the release of the new 2024 Britannia coin in 1oz Silver, 1oz Gold, 1/4oz Gold and 1/10oz Gold. The Royal Mint’s 2024 Britannia coin design replicates the 2023 design with the crownless effigy of King Charles III.
The 2024 Britannia Coin Design
The design of this 2024 coin features Martin Jennings’ image of King Charles III on the obverse and the traditional Philip Nathan Britannia design on the reverse.
The reverse illustrates the iconic Britannia, symbolising Britain – courage, strength and peace. This classic design has stood the test of time and makes for a beautiful addition to any collection.
Britannias, like sovereigns and several other Royal Mint commemorative coins are classed as Legal Tender, rendering them exempt from Capital Gains Tax. Perhaps more so now than ever before, this benefit makes them extremely popular with investors. Gold Britannia coins have the advantage over the silver equivalent of being VAT exempt too.
Gold Britannias from 2013 onwards have been crafted in 24 carat (999.9 Fine Gold) featuring intricate detailing. Gold Britannia coins are available in 1/10, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 ounce weights, with denominations £10, £25, £50 and £100 respectively.
Silver Britannias are produced in the popular 1oz, £2 coin of identical design and produced using 999.0 Fine Silver. Silver Britannias are a popular choice amongst silver stackers, collectors and those looking for more affordable gifts.
