Morgan le Fay Coin Background

This is the last coin in the King Arthur series, celebrating the renowned story of this unique Celtic Briton King.

King Arthur, although a fictional character, has been a prominent figure in British mythology since first appearing in Welsh medieval chronicles in the ninth and tenth centuries.  He is rumoured to have fought giants, dragons and other fictional beasts throughout his reign over Camelot.

Morgan le Fay first appeared in Geoffrey Monmouth’s twelfth-century work, Vita Merlini. Since then the character has undergone various representations and portrayals. These range from that of a benevolent healer to a powerful enchantress, commonly associated with magic and the supernatural.

This stunning design by David Lawrence depicts Morgan le Fay as a powerful enchantress, in the midst of conjuring dark magic.

The Royal Mint also produce Morgan le Fay coins in 1oz Silver.

Morgan le Fay Coin Design

This is the final coin in the second series of the British myths and legends collection. The first series features the legend of Robin Hood.

Morgan le Fay has been immortalised in David Lawrence’s depiction of this enchantress, wearing a winged headpiece, ready to conjure dark magic.
