Our business is underpinned by a corporate social responsibility based on strong family values, a deep respect for one another, our customers, suppliers and the environment around us. We believe that each one of us, through our actions, behaviour and choices can make a difference to the world as a whole.

Our Staff

Our team of dedicated staff, past and present have built and continue to develop Bleyer. We take great pride in our brand each and every day striving to deliver the best quality service we can, whether our work involves packing a box, answering a customer enquiry, providing web or information services, the needs of our customers and each other are always in our minds. All staff are valued equally, respect each other, whatever role they play and are rewarded accordingly.

Without you we wouldn’t have a business and we want to make sure you get whatever it is you need, to make decisions that are right for you. We believe that these days people ought to take more responsibility for their financial as well as their physical health. We are here to help support you in this endeavor and inform you as best we can, so that you are better equipped to make choices most suited to your specific circumstances.

When we give you help in making an informed choice this is given unconditionally regardless of your decision to purchase anything. For example after a conversation with a customer, having talked them through an exit strategy, risks and costs, they may see that now, isn’t the right time for them or guarantee the outcome they are hoping to achieve.

When shopping on our site it is our aim for this to be as effortless as possible and through our pricing structure there are no hidden extras. We value your time as well as our own and are constantly working on improvements and new ideas.

The Environment

We always pack your parcels using recycled packaging, mainly filler such as bubble wrap, foam chips and shredded paper. Boxes, paper, and business cards used by us are manufactured using recycled paper and cardboard and are recyclable too.

Being based in Devon, we celebrate the natural world every day and from time to time provide financial support to local charities carrying out valuable work in our area.

To celebrate our 12th year in business, we sent our customers packets of wild flower seed to distribute around the UK. It was nice to send a bit of natural magic, attracting birds, bees and butterflies for more to enjoy.

We are very proud of the Owl Bars we have produced and been selling to raise funds for The Barn Owl Trust. We plan to produce more of these and possibly help other wildlife charities in our area too. All profits from our hand poured bars go to charity.

Our main supplier is based in the UK. They manufacture their bars largely from recycled material and we bulk up shipments wherever possible reducing transportation costs, financial as well as environmental.

Our Community

We recognize that not everyone is happy or has what they need to get through life or even survive. It hasn’t always been the case, but Bleyer now finds itself in a position to be able to help others outside our business and feels that we have a corporate social responsibility to do what we can to help improve the lot of others.

We have produced some beautiful Unity silver rounds to support mental health charities and the profits from the sale of these has been divided between CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) and NDADA (North Devon Against Domestic Abuse).

We will continue with these initiatives and if you have any ideas or a charity you think we should know about please let us know.

Education

It is no secret that our education system does not adequately equip young people to handle adult life and Bleyer would like to be able to do something to bridge some of the gaps. When I was young, if you wanted something you expected to have to save up for it until you had enough money. These days it is almost expected that as soon as you leave school you will go into debt, starting with a university education and then later a mortgage. If you want a car you buy it now and pay later etc.

We would like to be able to educate young people on how to manage debt and how to plan and make better financial decisions in the future. It is hardly surprising that so many of them suffer from anxiety. It is our corporate social responsibility to build structures to support this aim in the future.

We have built a library of articles on our website mainly specific to precious metals, investing and the economy in our Bullion Academy.
