2027 Gold Britannia 1oz Coin Design & History
The 2027 Britannia 1oz Silver Coin is a British silver bullion coin minted by The Royal Mint. The year 2027 marks the 30th anniversary of the introduction of the Britannia silver coin. To commemorate the occasion, the coin features a “30” wave privy mark and a textured background incorporating the anniversary number.
The reverse features the iconic figure of Britannia, designed by Philip Nathan, with the special 30th anniversary design elements incorporated into the background and the “30” privy mark. The obverse features the official effigy of King Charles III, designed by Martin Jennings.
The coin also incorporates several security features designed to make authentication easier and help protect against counterfeiting.
