Coin Information
The 2026 Chinese Dragon 1oz Silver Bullion Coin is the second official silver dragon bullion coin issued by the Chinese Mint. Authorised by the People’s Bank of China and recognised as legal tender, it is struck from 1oz (31.1035g) of .999 fine silver. With a worldwide mintage limited to 2,000,000 coins, it combines investment-grade silver with a design inspired by Chinese history and culture.
Obverse
The obverse features a stylised interpretation of the Great Wall of China, designed to resemble a dragon winding through the surrounding mountains. The detailed relief highlights the textures of the ancient stonework and landscape, creating depth across the design. The imagery reflects the enduring significance of the Great Wall and its place within Chinese history.
The finely engraved details throughout the mountains and wall demonstrate the high standard of craftsmanship for which the Chinese Mint is known.
Reverse
The reverse depicts a Chinese dragon inspired by two important examples of Chinese art: the gilt dragons of the Tang Dynasty and the Nine Dragon Wall in Beijing’s Forbidden City. The design combines traditional artistic influences with modern minting techniques.
The dragon is shown soaring among auspicious clouds, with its claws extended and tail raised, elements that traditionally symbolise strength, ambition and good fortune. Each scale is individually engraved, adding texture and detail to the overall design.
