The Royal Arms Coin Background

The Royal Arms Coin Design
Following the accession of King Charles III, acclaimed heraldic artist Timothy Noad created a new interpretation of the Royal Coat of Arms, which now features on a bullion coin from The Royal Mint for the first time. The revised shield incorporates the Tudor Crown, reflecting the new reign.
The design continues to display the historic motto “DIEU ET MON DROIT” (“God and My Right”), the personal motto of King Charles III. This refreshed version of the Royal Arms, along with its simplified adaptations, has been adopted across official government and royal documentation throughout His Majesty’s reign.
