1oz Silver Britannia & Liberty Coin – Design
The Royal Mint has partnered with the United States Mint once again for a bullion range honouring Britannia and Liberty in one unified design. Collaborating to create a coin design for the second time, Gordon Summers and Joseph Menna, the Chief Engravers of these mints, have created a binary design comprising two national symbols that represent a longstanding special relationship.
The reverse of the coin shows lady Britannia wearing a helmet and holding a trident (facing right), and lady Liberty upside down with USA’s stars in her hair and she is holding a lit torch (facing left). Around the rim of the coin are the words “BRITANNIA AND LIBERTY” on the top and “2026•1OZ 999 FINE SILVER” on the bottom.
The obverse of the coin has an effigy of King Charles III (facing left) designed by Martin Jennings and the words “CHARLES III•D•G•REX•F•D•2 POUNDS” around the edge.
