In honour of the 35th anniversary of the American Eagle, a new design has been introduced mid way through 2021. Both the Gold and Silver coins have received an update in design since their introduction in 1986. The obverse design of the Silver Eagle features Liberty draped in the Stars and Stripes, carrying laurel and oak branches. Her right arm outstretched as she strides towards the sunrise. The reverse features a male eagle as it approaches a landing, carrying an oak branch.
