New 5 Pence Two-Coin Set

“To commemorate the introduction into circulation of a new, smaller five pence coin in 1990, the Royal Mint is issuing a maximum of 35,000 silver Proof two-coin sets containing the last of the original five pence coins and the first of the new.”

Coin Design- “The reverse of each of the coins features the Badge of Scotland, a thistle royally crowned. This design by Christopher Ironside was first used on the five pence coin in 1968. The obverse shows the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf.”
