This 22 carat gold double sovereign celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first man on the moon. This sovereign is the first to be struck with 11 sides, honouring the Apollo 11 mission that led Neil Armstrong into taking the first steps on the moon on 21st July 1969.
The obverse features the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by the inscription “ELIZABETH II”, “EAST CARRIBEAN STATES”, 20 DOLLARS” “2019”.
The reverse depicts the launch of Apollo II’s mission on board the Saturn V rocket. The inscription reads “50th ANNIVERSARY OF THE MOON LANDINGS” and “DOUBLE SOVEREIGN”.
