Gold UK Two Dragon Coin, 2018
With a limited mintage of just 5,000 coins, the new Royal Mint 1oz Gold UK Two Dragon coin was a hit with investors and collectors worldwide.
The obverse of the coin displays the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, along with the face value of £100 pounds against a modern guilloche background. The reverse design celebrates 50 years of production at the Mint’s current base in Wales and references its expanding bullion business in China. The design is influenced by the Yin and Yang and depicts two dragons, one representing the Chinese dragon and one depicting the Welsh dragon. The coin includes the inscription “TWO DRAGONS” as well as the purity and year.
