China Gold Coin Incorporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of the People's Bank of China.
The CGCI was established in 1987 and is aminly responsible for the designing and marketing of China's precious metals coins and medals. Prior to 1987 this was undertaken by a division within the China Banknote Printing and Minting Corporation (CBPM).
In addition to gold coins, the CGCI issue gold bars including a range of gold investment bars (50g up to 500g) manufactured by the Shenzhen Guobao Mint since 2009.
The People's Bank of China is listed as an active Good Delivery Refiner by the London Bullion Market Association.
