Engelhard Corporation is a former American Fortune 500 company headquartered in Iselin, New Jersey, USA. It is credited with developing the first production catalytic converter. Engelhard was once the world's largest refiner and fabricator of platinum metals. The German chemical manufacturer BASF bought Engelhard in 2006. As Engelhard no longer exists their bars have become highly collectable.
